IMPORTANT NOTICE | 2026 – 2027 Nearby Construction Project

From January 2026 – September 2027 the nearby UBC Department of Anthropology building will be undergoing necessary seismic upgrades. Access to Cecil Green is not impacted, however some parking will be utilized by construction crews which may limit the number of stalls available.
Please see below for an image outlining the areas affected. In most cases parking isn’t needed due to usage of shuttles, cabs/Ubers, etc. but should you feel your event may require parking solutions your dedicated venue manager will work with you to find alternatives for the area.

Parking

Guests may be dropped off directly at the main entrance at the start of the event; however, please note that the entrance driveway is not available for parking. After 10:00 PM, there is no access to the driveway leading to the front of the House.

Parking is available in the lot located on Cecil Green Park House Road. Please refer to the photo above for available parking locations during construction. Hourly parking can be purchased at the on-site meter or through the HONK app (Zone 5606).

If the Cecil Green Park House lot is full, we recommend using the nearby parkade:

Prepaid & Reserved Parking Options

We work with UBC Parking to provide parking solutions that you can share with your guests. There are two options available:

  1. Pre-paid parking through a system called Off Street Parking
  2. Reserved parking spaces

Pre-paid Parking

This is a pre-purchased option. Pricing is as follows:

  • $12.50: weekends (anytime) and weekdays after 5:00 PM
  • $25.00: weekdays before 5:00 PM

Parking Tax (29%) and GST (5%) will be applied, for a total tax of 35.45%. Pricing is subject to change.

With this option, we will invoice you in advance based on the estimated number of parking stalls you wish to purchase. After the event, any unused or additional parking will be adjusted accordingly (either refunded or charged).

You will be responsible for sharing instructions with your guests on how to activate and use a unique QR code through Off Street Parking. We will provide a PDF with step-by-step instructions.

We recommend also sharing these instructions with your event planner or onsite team so they can help troubleshoot any guest questions regarding the QR code or access link.

Due to current construction, guests are advised to park in the Rose Garden Parkade.

Reserved Parking Option

There is a minimum requirement of 10 vehicles for this option.

  • Reserved spaces: If you need to reserve spaces anywhere on campus, the cost is $60 + tax per vehicle.

We will arrange your selected parking option with UBC Parking and provide you with the necessary details to share with your guests and vendors. Parking charges will be added to your final invoice.

Please note:

  • A minimum of 10 business days’ notice is required to secure parking.
  • UBC Parking does not work directly with event clients.
  • If using an Off Street Parking QR code and link, you (the client) are fully responsible for distributing and managing it. You will be charged for each use of the code or ID.
